Okay, for all the kids who are wondering. The new Squarepusher single, Red Hot Car. It's chopped up amen, in a barely d+b stylee, nifty melody and *vocals* Oh, and a nice bassline. The lyrics are about as inane as you'd expect from a mate of Aphex's. "I'm going to fuck you in my red hot car", for example. It's already got airtime on Radio 1. The 12" has a remix on the b-side, which is quite good, but no as memorable as the original. I'd say the track would've slotted in well after Vic Acid / that era. And it's nice to see Tom acknowledging his Essex roots - Is he a boy racer? Anyone else heard any of the new Orbital album? Meltdown is a fantastic track - Long and evolving. Very nice. And for those of you who don't know, there is an unreleased Ae. track on the All Tomorrows Parties album (http://www.alltomorrowsparties.co.uk), along with a Prefuse track, Tortoise, BoC edit of In a Beautiful place, unreleased Broadcast and a Def Jux thing. All that for a tenner, bargin. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
