went to the new other music 5 minutes walking from my house (!!) last night. Picked up a coupla records and a cd. first: versus rather interesting 12 inch - various featuring mixes by atom, pole, pram, plaid, fibla, mash'ta, and more. There is some real good melodically mangled stuff on here. The tracks by Plaid, Pole, and Fibla are the standouts. next: As One - Mihara / Dance of the Uighurs single Who is Kim DeGorgio? I know she is a member of Black Dog, but like what else has she done/contributed to? Both are real good melodic housey tracks, pretty good fer spinnin, especiall at the end of a set. and last: matrix - various films on cd My oh my... What an album. Methinks I will go out and buy everything on Chain Reaction now that I've gotten both Fluxions, Multila and now this one. I always hated house music before I heard Fluxion and Uusitalo's Vapaa Muurari. Now I love this type of stuff. Can anyone recommend anything and everything similar? Oh my God, if you think those CR albums are good wait til you hear the (the artist(s) known as) Various Artists and Porter Ricks albums. Masterpieces of sound design, imo. Also essential are the Basic Channel comp on BC and the Various Artists 8, 8.5 & 9 12" on Fat Cat. Also check out the Pole Raum 12" on din and the Pole 1 album, if you haven't already. The Rhythm & Sound w/Tikiman album on Burial Mix is also great. not sure if it's his "official" site or not, but check http://www.kirkdegiorgio.com for some more info. there's a pretty comprehensive discography on there.
