Yes the Convextion stuff is awesome. I've been hearing rumors of Convextion releases on matrix, tektite, and a new label run by convextion for years now but, so far, havent seen/heard anything. when will we be graced with some new Convextion? -->-Lance--- lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Ever since Hearing Farben for the first time a couple of months ago I have been ecstatic over everything I've heard by them...does anyone know how to get ahold of Klang records...I would like to get as much of their stuff as I can. Or does anyone have a discography of thiers...Also..what style would they be considered? Actually Farben is a he, just one. His actual name is Jan Jelinek and has done work under the name Gramm.Since the site is having problems, I'll post the bios we have jotted down for him..(some of the gramatic bells and whistles have been left out on purpose... Jan Jelinek has recorded under the names Farben and Gramm, earning himself a respected name as a producer and contributor to the German electronic music scene. Moving to Berlin in 1995, for sake of his University degree in philosophy and sociology, Jelinek started experimenting with sampling media. His experimenting turned into solid productions and in 1998 he started releasing records under the moniker Farben on Klang Elektronik. In April of 2000 he released the fourth Farben record, raw micro, while also recording under the name Gramm. The Gramm alias served as a vehicle for Jelinek to create a compromise between listening and dance music. Using his sampler as a tool to dissect and tape together new tracks, Jelinek moved on to the recognized Scape label (belonging to Stefan Betke (Pole) for his Loop-Finding-Jazz-Records release. For the release Jelinek cut and pasted jazz sequences from the 60's and 70's; rearranging them with audio tools for a unique end product. In addition to performing live at clubs he has taken part in electronic music focused festivals and largely contributed to the Hanover, Germany based Expo 2000; creating multimedia land and soundscapes for the youth media exhibit. and for Gramm, the entry reads: Jan Jelinek's productions as Gramm and Farben are some of the warmest examples in what is usually a very cold style of electronics, the heavily experimental German dub scene. Based in Berlin, Jelinek debuted with three Farben singles released on Klang Electronik during 1998-99. After signing to David Moufang's Source Records, he recorded his first LP Personal Rock as Gramm. hope this helps! d --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

To answer your question, you can contact Klang at http://www.klang-elektronik.de you can find the klang discography here along with other related labels. As for Farben, His releases are as follows. Farben " s/t"( black cover ) Has Three Amazing chill out tracks. Completely leftfield compared to the other releases. Farben " Stuck"( white cover ) Abstract ambient tunes, another great release. Farben " Live featuring the dramatics"( blue cover) Farben " Raw Macro" (yellow cover) Farben " Beautone" (burgundy) The last three releases are more dance floor oriented. More uptempo, similar to some of the material on kompact. Hope this helps, Bryan ------------------------- Bryan Bickel bbickel@cs.wayne.edu http://www.freshashell.com On Thu, 8 Feb 2001, matt loathing wrote:
