fun little aside to this.....grooves just a did a review of my ep "vepau" in
their last issue, and in their commentary mentioned that i obviously listened
to this guy (or group.....?) Vainio, as well as Vaisanen. i thought it was
hilarious, because i had never even heard OF vainio, and definately wasn't
influenced by them/him.
of course, he had to mention the "it sounds like autechre" stuff, which i can
at least understand. the ep has some rather old songs on it, and i did
think the review was rather fair. i'm just not a big fan of describing
music by comparison to other music. if it was done sparingly, it would be
ok. but i can't read an IDM review without Ae shoved somewhere in there.
it's just annoying.
