From "News of the Weird .674" " The debut CD from the Thai Elephant Orchestra (Lampang, Thailand) was scheduled for December release, featuring six pachyderm prodigies playing crude versions of traditional instruments (drum, gong, bass, xylophone) and recorded intact, without overdubbing, to create music that (in the words of a New York Times writer) "strike(s) some Western listeners as haunting, others as monotonous." The CD's American producers, pointing to much academic research on elephants' natural musical abilities, said they plan a second album ("easy-listening," engineered, they said, to make it more accessible to a wider audience). could this possibly replace pressing the proverbial random button? ... ... ... ... ... ... ... and now for bad joke #2. we've found somebody to give dr. dre some production advice. ok. on that note, back to work. on that note, why is it that when you explain gain/loss quality/filesize to fat people in suits that pay your paychecks they look at you like it's your fault that the internet works that way? yeah. a. Why the dislike of Dre? I respect him for actually doing his own production. Many of his tracks are also very refreshingly original sounding and very well programmed (Kill You on the new Eminem album....)
