Are there any deFocus people here who can shed some light? So late in the year deFocus released the sublime "Bare Necessities" by +One toward the end of November. I've just heard it now and it's certainly among the "Top 10" contenders... I'll have to revise that list forthwith! And I hold my nomination for deFocus being label of the year. Apparently this album was produced by Plaid? Magic touch indeed. Very Plaid-y hallmark melodic plinks going on. *Metro* could have been taken straight off Not for Threes. Very very gorgeous. Please tell us : who is +One? Everybody should rush forth and buy this. (The deFocus discog. at http://www.egroups.com/files/focusmusic/Miscellaneous/defocus.ht ml still lists foc 357 as TBA) Is anybody cold out there? Do come to "sunny" South Africa, where we are melting and strict water restrictions are enforced. Maximum of watering your garden for only one hour on every alternate (evenly numbered) day and then only before 10am or after 4pm. I * np : as you guessed... --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

+One is a guy called Shaun. He's been friends with Andy and Ed Plaid for many years - the album 'Bare Necessities' was produced in the Plaid Bubble studio but was written by Shaun. Shaun DJ'd at some of the deFocus FM nights in 2000 - he also DJ'd at the big Plaid night at the Eve club in London in 1999. 'Bare Necessities' is his debut release.

hehe... I cracked a smile when you first posted about this because I "know of" Plus One. My best friend was commissioned last year to do their website as they are based here in Nashville. I'm glad to hear they are NOT one in the same... I was getting a little nervous. 8) The whole concept of Plus One (not +One) has always struck me as being absolutely horrid and indicative of what the big music corporations will throw together just to make a buck off the unsuspecting lemmings out there. sickening. __ {^>*} <~> matT --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
