not that anyone gives a fuck, but... (not all released this year...just stuff that's my favorite and had most play time) - v/vm - chart runners - cex - role model - pole - lp1 - child's view - funfair - oval - dok - quasimoto - the unseen - boards of canada - in a beautiful place out in the country - mu-ziq - bluff limbo (old but still one of the greatest idm albums) - richard devine - lipswitch (i know it's not out yet...but i'm a whore and it's so good) - the orb- orbus terrarum some songs of the year solenoid - this1track pole - cd1 - modul and fragen (working into each other...fucking amazing) hell interface - soylent night some benn l. jordan song i can't remember the hollies - he ain't heavy, he's my brother on a sidenote, it's been a little over a year of me being on this list. it's been a long time but now i can finally say that i know of most of the things being discussed here and i didn't have to spend thousands (although i spent hundreds on vinyl). thanks all for the info, recommendations, and general knowledge. i first got into electronica when a friend bought daft punk and i bought wu-tang. i threw away wu-tang and bought daft punk the next day (although a year later, i had a joyous reunion with wu-tang forever) from daft punk, i listened to orbital. i liked them so much, i decided to go on the internet to research and whatnot. i came upon the loop crematory page where i first heard plastikman. they were some loops from sheet one. a month or two later, when i was in the states for our grade nine renaissance festival in minnesota, i bought sheet one from sam goodie's or something. after sitting next to the pool in a lawnchair type thing in the hotel in some vicodin-accelerated impulse shopping clothing (including wearing a black and yellow checkered hat) i fell in love listening to track 3 (what's it called again) over and over again. then a friend let me listen to the amp cd, heard aphex, the rest is history. that's why i'm somewhat hesistant to bash the larger music corporations. i mean, lots of people can end up going from daft punk (even though they still are quite good) to proem. that's not bad for our culture. experimental electronic music is a gift. anyone else have stories of first falling in love? i'm drunk shaun --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Good to see - quasimoto - the unseen made the grade..I dig that album allot. I would not be able to compile a list of the best, for i love it all...and...well, I got other things to do. =oP Sprek- p.s- I could use some feedback on this track, its nuthing spectacular...so dont expect the craziest shit, but give it a listen if you'd like. http://www.soundmangle.com/mp3s/sell_me_your_dawg-Sprek.mp3 At 03:25 AM 12/21/00 -0600, {{{5x}}} wrote:
