hey all, for those who still dig the idea of legal electronica mp3s, there's still the subscription download service at emusic - http://www.emusic.com :) anyhow, i finally got round to updating my unofficial electronica + hiphop + coolstuff guide to emusic (it's now v1.2), with an easy-to-read list of the labels and artists available on their site. it's at: http://www.mono211.com/emusic/ i still think emusic is great value for money at 10 bucks a month if you sign up for a year, considering the breadth of material available - there's still the majority of Fax's output up there, and with new stuff recently from Fantasy (3 Cybotron albums and tonnes of great jazz), Ariwa (about 50 albums, including oodles of Mad Professor, cool..), and Parallel (Velocette/Kit Clayton), plus lots of tricky-to-find stuff from labels like Law and Auder and Rather Interesting, well, I still dig it lots. It's a shame Ninja Tune/Big Dada never came back, tho :( also, i strongly urge anyone on-list who's subscribed to emusic.com to sign up for a new egroups list i've just started for discussing the new mp3s (electronica, hiphop, jazz, dronerock, othercoolstuff..)available on emusic.com, links and info on existing labels and music, and general discussion on what we'd like to see in the future. this is totally unofficial, needless to say, but considering how often emusic sneak new artists and labels online without a fanfare, it'll be a good place to find out what new stuff is around, plus people's opinions on the best catalogues already available. mailing-list is at: http://www.egroups.com/group/emusic-discussion ..or you can subscribe by going to my emusic info-site above - the list should be low-volume and pretty friendly :) regards, h0l. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
