i had a great time at the soundmangle party. unfortunately, the good friends i went with aren't much into the same stuff i am. and they're all visual artists, and generally open to music. but just couldnt swing to this. i saw some old friends, which was nice. a sweet girl from high school, and a sweet girl i met last year through mutual friends. made some new ones too. twerk and jasper are really nice fellers. quite humble and relaxed about their skills. i don't quite remember who it was that was playing the set when i first arrived... he was a tall blonde short haired chap, and he was apparantly quite fond of ripping apart audiomulch. amazing shit. i didn't even know you could do some of that shit with audiomulch. in fact, i'm gonna open it up and really try to learn the sumbitch now. if somebody could remind me the name of the artist... lovely. all in all, a great great show. something i love to see in los angeles. sorry i'm not getting into describing the evening... but i wasn't there too long cuz my friends were itching to go. twerk's playing on the 8th in the bay area somewhere, i believe... and check www.soundmangle.com for their stuff. what i've heard from their rroster i really like. jasper hooked my up with this dope new cytrax record... i can't read the label right now cuz it's spinning on my fancy lil record player contraption doodat... but it's sweet. beautiful building deep and moody track on right now... it's too dark in my room to tell what side it's on... but maybe i'll review it soon. so... this brings me to my next lil idea... anybody want to work on a design/audio portal for the net? i'm on k10k every day a few times a day, as well as threeoh and all that. but there's not enough out there fusing artsy art and artsy music. yaknow? this is something i'd like to start working on. interviews, free web-based email, links, sample mp3s, realaudio mixes, slight merchandise, feature writeups, reviews, submitted playlists/top10's, visual pieces, photos, desktops, icons, audio/visual pieces, flash toy or two... something that you can make your homepage. if anybody's interested in starting this slowly... please let me know. yeah it may be hard work for nothing at first... but eventually, it could become something wonderful and ever so present on the web (while this one lasts... beware www.highku.com). on that note, i'm going to go sleep off the pilsner. peace. a. ps. i had the strangest thai dish afterwards. i don't know what i ordered, as i was a bit tipsy. i got the thing, and it didn't look that great. in fact, even after getting the bowl of food and really poking around it, i still couldn't figure out what 3/4 of the stuff was... or why the soup was pink. but i ate it. and it was mighty fine. mighty fishy, but mighty fine. eep op ork op op --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Yeah. Props to the guys there. The sound system was *unbelievable*, the room was so thick with dank weed smell I started to have flashbacks to my first year in college. I was way into the guys using MAX/MSP, especially the guy who had the MIDI controller and was playing really thick thump-thump techno. -l[e^2] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

thank you lee! glad people enjoyed the party - we had a great time playing! twerk did indeed throw down some midi-controlled max/msp-fueled dancefloor techno - later in the night he came back for a second set of amazing experimental dance grooves. i also used a midi controller (peavey1600x) for my set (controlling supercollider) but i was in the back so ya probably couldn't see it... :) props to whump for the sound and lots of friends for the dank weed smell ;) peace ben p.s. seems like i'm the only one who didn't get a record from cytrax... jasper??? -- ben milstein aka mintyfresh www.soundmangle.com - your home for experimental dance music... --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
