I don't know about MIDEM but SONAR comes highly recommended! Daytime you spend chilling out in the courtyards of one of Barcelona's biggest art galleries where music is towards chill out and experimental stuff and there's also a big stage in the basement plus art installations and very cool technology and record fairs. You have a few hours to chill out and experience the ambience of one of Europe's coolest cities and then you have the evening which is full on techno mayhem in and around the Olympic stadium with an incredible sound system. And the people from Barcelona and the 313 list are the world's friendliest people and we'll all be back there next year! Last year's line up included Ritchie Hawtin, Autechre, Funkstorung, Herbert, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Add N to (X), VV/M, Speedy J, A Guy Called Gerald, Laurent Garnier, Oliver Ho, Artist Unknown, Stereo MCs, David Morales, Kitbuilders, Groof, Chicks on Speed, Carl Cox, Ratio and lots of incredibly talent Spanish people including Oscar Mulero and Angel Molina who played an awesome techno set!
