For CDs I would go to Amoeba, Aquarius and Rasputin. Vinyl Dreams is great
but they don't sell CDs. I scored big at both Amoeba and Aquarius in the
dollar CD bin recently, great time to be digging thru CDs! Oh yeah, not
sure if it's still there but Rasputin had a second shop on Haight street
super close to Amoeba. Worth taking a look at.
Party-wise:

10/31 Juju and Jordash play pretty weird live house music, and Carlos
Souffront is an extremely good acid DJ, rest of music will be pretty
straight forward house and techno

also you should go to the Audium. It always sells out so be early.

probably other stuff going on too, I don't live there anymore so I'm out of
the loop. 5lowershop and SPAZ do really good parties, IDM and breakcore
usually represented. I'd hunt around on facebook closer to that weekend.
Good luck + party hard.
