sorry for the generic, impersonal tone of this email. i'm trying to tell a
lot of people about this all at once :)
i'm pleased to announce that a track of mine (photon wallet - "droppin'
packets") appears on the covermount CD in the November issue of Mixmag. oh
yeah, photon wallet is me, purveyor of screwy beats and New Beat record
samples.
the disc is mixed by Osymyso, a London dj who's currently enjoying a good
deal of attention for his weirdbeard selection and fun vibes. he's got a
full-length on Sprawl Imprint entitled "Welcome to the Palindrome," which
imo is one of the best electronic records of last year (but only if you
like hyper-sampladelic music about exploding dogs and potato chips).
anyhow, also appearing on the mix is Luke Vibert, Si Begg, Mellotrons,
Hexstatic, and others of that ilk, so you should at least get it for all
the EXCELLENT music that Osymyso has mixed up for everyone. frankly i'm a
more than a little awed by my inclusion in the mix, since i consider guys
like Vibert and Begg to be bonafide badasses.
the November issue is out in the UK and Europe, and should be hitting
stores in the States (as am import, unfortunately for non-UKers) any day
now. you'll like it. promise. the mix really is great.
