Kraftwerk when they played at a er I forgot the name large rave somewhere in England in a field, it was either Tribal Gathering or something about 3 yrs ago, someone on the list will know. however, Coldcut really did knock the socks offa Fatboy slim at the Brighton Essential Festival this July and in April 99 when they played for the Steve Reich remix launch album party @ Irving Plaza...but then I'm probably their no. 2 fan, so I would say that...Also the night that Kid Koala, Steinski and Coldcut all jammed in Brighton last november was a bomb 2... Then again, James Brown in Santa Cruz in 1979 was pretty amazing ok, but that's not idm izit? At 12:28 pm -0500 25/10/00, %andrew wrote:

of the ones I can remember off the top of my head: 1. Crash Worship - Coney Island High NYC 97 2. Crash Worship - Philadelphia 97 3. Crash Worship - West End Theatre NYC 96 4. Crash Worship - New Orleans 2000 Compared to those shows, nothing I've ever seen has even been good, let alone great. but if you removed crash worship from the world, i guess some honorable mentions would go to Dalek, U.S. Maple, Mr. Quintron, and Surgeon (by far the best "techno" show/dj event I've ever experienced). ===== the humble abbott arthur purvis set his hand hereto __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? i guess i should jump in before it's too late. not idm: -they might be giants, the chance, poughkeepsie, '98 (conga line went around the bar and back into the pit) -morphine, vassar college, poughkeepsie, '97 (RIP mark sandman - who else could recite free verse poetry in front of a crowd of drunk kids and have them screaming for more? best stage presence EVER.) -phish, fiddler's green, denver, '00 -liz phair, lupo's, providence, '99 -hopefully paul simon next month vaguely idm: -bjork, the strand, providence, '96 (w/ goldie, but he sucked hard) -kid koala, the fox, boulder, '00 honorable mentions: -the roots played in the quad my freshman year of undergrad. they tore shit up, even though there were only like 50 people there -leo kottke is always astounding, but his shows are too short -billy joel put on a good show back in the day (if you like that sort of thing, which i do) aside: -i would have killed all of you without remorse to see orbital/plaid a couple years ago anywho, nub --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
