Look, in retrospect all she ever wanted to do was put those stupid stickers on records. Jello Biafra may hate her, but in his own words "We've got a bigger problem now". Yes, even Jello Biafra knows that the only thing worse than a do-gooder Democrat is a dimwit Republican puppet. Stickers suck, but if you remember Ronald Reagan like I remember Ronald Reagan, you'll realize that Tipper Gore is pretty harmless. I guarantee that Dubya, who is surrounded by former Reagan officials, will do much, much worse in terms of censoring the media. And that's just the beginning. At least Tipper and her husband never tried to shut down the NEA, allow lunatics to carry hanguns, ban abortions, legalize discrimination against gays, support aparthied in South Africa, dismantle affirmative action, allow industry to rape the environment, keep the minimum wage as low as possible, shut down the Department of Education, build a kooky "star wars" missile defense, oppose the equal rights amendment, sell arms to Iran to support the contras, or put right wing loonies like Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia on the supreme court. Sorry for the politics, but I'm downright scared about this election. Republicans suck. Dubya's a right wing moron fratboy. Nader's on an ego trip. It's a shame that Ronald Reagan doesn't remember Ronald Reagan like you remember Ronald Reagan...

Hey! I resent the fratboy comment! That's just another form of discrimination based on the social circles one has travelled in, something I'm pretty sure some members of this list have encountered for being forward-thinking enough to listen to music not necessarily rolled off the corporate assembly line. And exactly which part was exaggerated? You're probably not old enough to remember it, but Reagan was a disastrous president who advocated everything I listed (except the ones that happened under Bush, his heir). My girlfriend's mother used to work for Reagan on the NSC - she would give him little index cards that had the name of the Soviet foreign minister on it so he wouldn't forget it during meetings. Dubya will be pretty much the same - a moronic puppet of less than "compassionate" conservatives. But you're right. I'm pretty much a leftist. I accept that. But I'm not voting for Nader. This is important. Okay, no more politics this week. I just wanted all of you Intelligent Dance Music folks to see that it's not unheard of for young people to actually care and know about politics. Go out and, um, vote for the intellegent one. - Cf --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

In a message dated 10/23/00 5:08:56 PM Pacific Daylight Time, Chris.Fahey@raremedium.com froths: << And exactly which part was exaggerated? You're probably not old enough to remember it, but Reagan was a disastrous president <snip!> >> Erm, "disastrous"...?!? Needless to say, Chris, there's a sizable body of historians, politicians, intellectuals and everyday citizens who might--for any number of reasons--take issue with your rather "zealous", shall we say, one-word summation/assessment of Reagan's lingering impact on our country.

And certainly not so important that we--all *1000* of us-- need to hear about it on an *IDM* list. I'm quite glad you're impassioned. I'm quite glad you're not voting for Nader. I'm not terribly excited you felt the need to spew on this list. Find the right forum to vent, friend. This ain't it.
