I saw Matmos play on Friday night and I thouroughly enjoyed it. The
highlight for me was the playing of a gerbil cage or something of the sort
by plucking the wire of the cage, there was some kind of surface mic mounted
on it run through a lot of reverb, they got some cool rhythms going on that
thing. The visuals were somehow appropriate - extremely up-close video of
the skin of a man's face, with the camera going on journeys up his nose and
in his ear and all that fun stuff, and then some video of dye dispersing in
water among other things. Good tunes, good visuals, good atmosphere, it was
great fun. Rachel's played too and they were great, a very emotional
performance. Anyway, I know you're out there Drew, bravo! I enjoyed the show
immensely.
