carpark is pleased to announce the november release of so takahashi's 30/30
cd and self-titled 12". the official release date for these is november
14th. the 30/30 cd is a 30 minute audio piece that so created to accompany
a photo exhibit of 30 empty rooms. the package comes with a 32 page
booklet with all of the color photos. we're very excited for this special
release so be on the lookout for it. so takahashi has also initiated the
carpark 12" series by giving us one track and 31 locked grooves. the
track, entitled Herbert Bayer is a 17 minute ambient tone piece while the
locked grooves range from the techno end of things to a repeating bleep or
two. we only pressed up 500 of these so be sure to check it out before
they're gone!
also set for an early january release is jake mandell's new full length
love songs for machines. jake has really come up with one of his finest
records to date here. the record has a poppy new wave feel to it that is
reminiscent of early human league and new order with of course jake's 21st
century touch. we hope you dig it as much as we at carpark do! we're also
pressing the release on lp and cd with each format having mutually
exclusive tracks.
the anticipated kit clayton/safety scissors collaborative ping-ping
sports-FAN cd is set to come out late winter/early spring. mr. scissors
and mr. clayton have been honing their skills with the paddle so their game
has been in overtime for quite a while. each will be volleying sounds to
the other until they have finished their game. the results are anybody's
guess. as with all sports-FAN cd releases, we are planning a very unique
package for this one as well.
invisible cities in the news
invisible cities has been mentioned in the latest issue of new york
magazine! yes...strange but true...we got a mention in the october 23rd
"single in the city" feature. there are a series of sidebars with types of
single people to look out for and one of them is the "e-man." he is a
succesful dot-com-er with lots of electronic gadgets. under "where to find
him" it says "invisible cities laptop music night at brownies." funny
considering we haven't done an invisible cities night at brownies since
may! oh well...the picture has been posted at the invisible cities site at

invisible cities will be taking another breather after november's
show. our last show of the year will be at the knitting factory on
november 14th. we're putting on a morr music night with b. fleischmann,
styrofoam, and velocette. if you are in the new york area please come down
to show your support as it will be the last one for a while!

this fall is carpark tour madness! marumari is already in europe giving it
his best while jake mandell, safety scissors, signer, and so takahashi will
be joining in november. here are the dates:
