In case this wasn't already forwarded to the list... -- This upcoming Thursday, Static will present a special event at the Justice League in San Francisco. Please come down to see some familiar faces and listen to some quality Static-style music. We will be featuring: Funkstörung (!K7, Musik Aus Strom) live From Munich, Germany, Funkstörung is an electronic duo made up of Michael Fakesch and Chris DeLuca. With many groundbreaking releases on !K7 and thier own imprint, Musik Aus Strom, they are revered as one of the biggest names in the experimental electronic (or "IDM", blargh) scene. Their latest album, Appetite for Disctruction, explores what some may consider the future of hip hop, mixing broken stuttering beats with eerie melodies and cut up vocals. Whatever it may be, these two übergeeks will put forth an impressive performance. Safety Scissors (Context, Plug Research, Force Tracks) live + dj This local talent is featured on labels such as Force Tracks (Germany) and Plug Research (US) as well as local San Francisco labels Context and Cytrax making quirky techno and minimal pop music. Recently he has been experimenting with balloons and bubblegum. Joe Rice (JL Soundsystem) dj The evening will also include a slick dj set from Mr. Nice Guy himself Joe Rice. He was recently nominated for best DJ in SF Weekly's WAMMIES awards. In their words, "Few DJs are consistently as interesting experimental, and -- above all else -- fun as Joe Rice."
