dear idm, all this talk of authechre and clones and what-not, but i'm really jonesing for something new by tom. anyone know of anything coming down the pike anytime soon? haven't seen him mentioned on warpnews lately. or anywhere else, for that matter. really, though, i guess his next move would be to go aphex and just stop releasing stuff. what with the huge amount of stuff that he's put out in the past few years and all. in other news, recently picked up hellfish and producer's "constant mutation" on planet mu. now we know where mike's been getting the inspiration for some of his harder tracks. a brief sample: thud thud thud thudthudthudthud thud thud thud kr-chk kr-chk thud thud thud thudthudthudthud <rap sample> thud... as you can see, it certainly doesn't have the depth and complexity of autechre, but it's an entertaining listen nonetheless. i don't think i'd want to have a whole ton of CDs in this vein, but this one does the trick for me. that's all for now. alan! np:sqpr:selection sixteen --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Inspiration meaning samples in excess of 10 seconds, right? "Hard Love" had more Hellfish & Producer samples than you can shake a stick at. -- :: atomly :: atomly@atomly.com | atomly@atdot.org | atomly@curiousnetworks.com http://www.atomly.com | http://www.mp3.com/atomly --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
