hi all... i just joined.. so hello!
luke, one of my co-conspirators from the freight elevator quartet uses a G3
powerbook to run his custom MAX/DSP patches... same setup as Kit Clayton. in
fact when he lost his laptop in a cab in NYC last year, he borrowed luke's
for his show.
we also use a mac for all our recording... with digital performer. this is
sorta frustrating, since i'm a PC guy too, and haven't gotten as much time
with stuff like cakewalk. we also use a mac for projections... btw, i don't
think the IBooks don't have sound input, so they're right out.
as for blowing audio. chris fahey sent me a post (i think from idm) about a
PCMCIA audio card that ran something like $800 or so. looked pretty snazzy
and claimed good things...
btw, just a quick plug for the new album, becoming transparent, out october
3 from caipirinha -- so you can pick up a copy along with the new radiohead.
the 12" vinyl EP has remixes by datach'i, thomas federspiel, and kit
clayton. check the website for samples, reviews, and stuff. also some of our
older, pre-label material is at
