Someone mentioned Certificate18 and it got me thinking about Pilote. Does anyone know if he will be putting out anything in the near future? I really liked his last cd...can't remember the name of it though. I picked up the album "Antenna" with Pilote a while ago and have been playing it ever since. There?s no crunchy beats, distortion or clicks in his music, so maybe it doesn?t fit in very well with what most idm artists are doing today. I've got the Pilote CD, it's really nice stuff. The last thing I heard about was a 7" but it was a tune from the cd. Massive props to Paul Arnold of Certificate 18, he has always had great releases. I heard Hidden Rooms 3 is in the works. When the Klute - Fear Of People gets releases I strongly recommend everyone give this a listen. It's a really deep piece of work, with a variety of styles on it. The first tune has some warm analog synth sounds that reminds me of Aphex Twin. Pilote is nice. For me, it's about 1/3 "oh. my. god. that track was perfect," and 2/3 filler. For example, the first album, Antenna, begins with the brilliant, almost-makes-you-cry "Turtle," and then just kind of peters out. The second album, Doitnowman, is similar, although the couple of tracks that are as good as "Turtle" aren't as good as "Turtle" I still would recommend it, though!
