Autopoieses "La vie à noir transposed" (Mille Plateaux) The original version, "La vie à noir", consists of 45 short tracks of noise, or something to that effect. This is the remix version - four artists do an interpretation each: Gez Varley (from LFO) transforms Autopoieses into first rate danceable techno, Terre Thaemlitz contributes with a very nice clicks'n'popsy ambient thing, Kit Clayton tries to throw some kind of interesting rhythmical noise together but stumbles at the finish line, while Vladislav Delay's tune is similar to the music on his impressive album "Entain" but not at all as good. The second 12" contains 28 locked grooves: loops of clicks and pops, small bits of sampled music or industrial noise. With a few effect boxes connected to your stereo you can have a lot of fun - make your own Autopoieses remix! The idea sadly fails a bit because all the loops are on the same 12", and you can consequently not mix them together. Pretty fun anyway, and luckily snd's magnificient "Systems Medley" came out in its thirt pressing during July (the b-side contains eight locked grooves. hs review written for swedish Groove magazine, quick-translated into english. _____________________________________________ everything is fiction, all cynic to the bone. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
