Hello.
Recently, I found myself in the position of introducing a friend to
the wonderful world of IDM. His current interest in electronic music
sort of begins and ends with the likes of Tangerine Dream, Jean Michel
Jarre and Vangelis. Well, that's where I began about 14 years ago.
Anyway, here is the track listing for the four MDs I knocked up for
him, just for curiosity's sake. I basically just wrote down a long
list of artists who came to mind and (with one or two exceptions)
recorded one track from each. There were loads I had to leave off
otherwise I'd have been recording these things forever. If I did these
discs all over again, I'd probably choose completely different tracks.
I deliberately made sure not to go for anything too extreme (I suspect
throwing in some v/vm and too much Mille Plateaux would have scared
him off). However, I threw in a bit of Pole and Vladislav Delay just
to test the water a bit.
