haha! that's crazy, because i saw an ad for lee jeans this week and noticed that dj guy in the jump suit after seeing the webpage a few days before. i didn't know what to think at the time, but i certainly didn't think the webpage was a marketing thing. sneaky bastards. jeff --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Brings up an interesting point, though... If we don't know it's marketing, is it really marketing? Sounds to me like maybe there are some creative people still out there...and maybe one or two with the authority to make decisions like this. I haven't seen the ads or the webpages, but I love the concept... ---brian ---------------------------------- Brian W. It's marketing as long as it introduces of reinforces ideas about or visability of a product. Now their product is attached to this character so when you see him or someone who reminds you of him it also reminds you of what its advertising. I think this is a very innovative way of advertising, by first creating a hype behind something, then adding the product later you can fold an add campaign before it is launched without suffering an association with a terrible add. ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

it's especially marketing when you don't know it's marketing...that just means they "advertisers etc" have taken you to the next step. They planted a seed in your brain and now it is growing. if you see something and automatically a product or company or ogo pops into your head then what they are doing is working. You see a product everywhere you look before long. Maybe I go too far but hey, if someone is selling you something and you don't even know it then whatever they did to get to this point worked. steve ----------
