1. 12k is now available in the UK via BAKED GOODS distribution.
12k has hooked up with baked goods distribution to handle UK and some sales throughout germany. customers in the UK will now have a much easier time finding the releases.
2. 12k launches LINE
the LINE sublabel of 12k has officially been launched and the website uploaded. LINE is a label headed by richard chartier that will be focusing on conceptual, ultra-minimalist sound works. LINE will have a consistent custom package and will be printed in unlimited editions of 500.
the debut release, scheduled for september, is chartier's "series" cd that employs soft hushed almost imperceptible high frequencies and bursts and staticy quiet low shifting tones... exploring an implied silence that is not silent.
following the "series" release will be cds by immedia (UK), steve roden (US), and miki yui (cologne/tokyo)

3. 12k cd packaging selected for japanese design book
both SPEC. (12k1007) and 0/r (12k1006) have been included in a PIE publishings (tokyo) book called "limited resources/limitless creativity" featuring cd packaging design from around the world. check it out when it hits america. and congrats to dan abrams for his innovative work on 0/r.
4. shuttle358 video complete
we received in the mail yesterday the final copy of the shuttle358 "frame" video. it is stunning. there will be a very limited release (50 copies) on clear VHS tape in the fall. the video will also be included in quicktime format on the upcoming shuttle358 "frame" cd due in november.
5. 12k reviews in the new issue of The Wire
check out the latest issue of The Wire for reviews of deupree/chartier "spec." and inoue/deupree "active/freeze". text will be posted on the 12k website by the weekend.
