This is the debut single release by EU, although they have already released many longer-playing recordings, virtually unavailable outside their homeland; Russia. Reframing, an EEP (thats Extended EP to you) by EU will be released in the coming months by PAUSE_2.
Biog:
EU (elochne igrushki) is a duo formed by Sasha Zaitsev and Llya Baramiya in the late of 1997 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. They both got interested in contemporary electronic music early in the nineties though listening to releases by Warp, Ninja Tune, Rephlex. The first track by EU was recorded on October 7th, 1997. Named Mice On Moon, it appeared on the now legendary Perforation compilation on Perforated Records, a small independent label located in SPb, which maintains the underground spirit of contemporary electronica in Russia. The following year and a half were devoted to the active experimentation in the home studio with all kind of accessible equipment (PC, Box DR-660, old analogue keys) and occasional live shows in different local clubs. During the March 98 February 99 sessions, new material was recorded. Some part of it was released as a limited edition cassette/cd on Perforated Records. During the summer of 99, EU recorded a split cassette release with Tensor that was also put out by Perforated. This release was much more in the Ninja Tune style making it unlike other EU releases. All other EU tracks appear either on the EU website on MP3 form, on the Artifakts compilation from Art-Tek, or on their recent album entitled EU-SOFT also on the Art Tek label. EUs new 7 for Pause_2 further showcases their progressive electronica sound.

Pause_2 Records is a new label based in the UK. Pause_2 is not a label devoted to electronix, or any specific kind of music, except interesting music. In a completely realistic way, Pause_2 wishes to exploit the internet for our benefit. As a consequence, www.pause2.com will be our only real home and will be growing rapidly in the coming months.
