Whatever I happen to be doing when it's
playing...cooking, reading books / magazines, working,
making weird pictures. Sometimes it's pretty good for
writing lyrics to, as particular tracks can conjure up
vivid mental images.
On a related tip, someone a while ago asked the list
about good IDM tracks to listen to while studying.
I've found that old-skool 'intelligent' drum'n'bass
(circa 95 - 96) is pretty good. Also I've been getting
into Flashbulb (aka Benn L Jordan) in a big way
(
http://www.metatonerecords.com) and especially tracks
like "Autumn Insomnia Jam Session", "Kitchen Drawer"
and "Plastic Dreams" are extremely conducive to
learning. For me anyway.
G-love.
