hey, hows the list doin? I was all about to buy a nice yamaha djx keyboard, but now that I ponder it, it would be better in the longrun to buy a synthesizer, preferably Roland. Is anyone here an expert on Roland's synthesizer's? If so, what would be the best one to get and why? money really isn't an issue, but don't tell me the $2000 one is the best, cause I am looking for the best in mid price range. peace, unison now playing: Alder & Elius - king of pop 7" --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

throw down $1200 for the Nord Lead 2. you can't go wrong with Nord. Roland really stopped making good stuff around 1985. If you're lucky you can find a Juno 106 or 60 in the $500 range, both sound really good but the Nord is such a sweet machine. josh -- String Theory : Digital Music for Humans http://www.enteract.com/~yoshi/index.cgi On Tue, 11 Jul 2000 Inputcodetrnsfus@aol.com wrote:

First off... DJX is a synth. And it's just a cheaper version of all the roland "groove approved" shit anyway. And old roland is overpriced and overused. If you want to make INTELLIGENT dance music.. I suggest getting something else. If you LOVE the sound of the 303 so much... Get a future retro 777 for 777$. Much cheaper than a 303.. And can do so much more. If you love the 909 so much.. Get a JOMOX xbase09... cheaper... and updated, and IMO sounds better. If you love the 106 so much... get an akai ax-60 and a nice chorus/multi effects unit for about the same price (Total) and rejoice in it's fully analog sound and much more interesting character. I have tons of other suggestions of you're interested as well. Yup. I don't like Roland.. Don't care for much of the equipment, and HATE the company. They're real bastards. OT: Anyone wanna buy my Roland XP-80? The one decent piece of roland gear out there.. But I need to sell it for school. 1100$+shipping (they sell new for 1600$). thanks, jared --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
