hello, I'm just starting to get heavily into Ae + Gescom through a freindly freind of a freind. Anyone let me know the thinking behind Minidisc by gescom. Is it a purely musical release or is it experimenting with the format. OOOOPS - that's a three in one... never mind. Minidisc ... not my favourite Gescom release and a bit of a wanky (IMO!!!) release. Most of the tracks are pretty short, around the 40- sec. mark and designed to be played on the random setting, so that no two times you'll hear the same final product swing by. If you've got a minidisc player and you're a completist, by all means get it. I see it more as a bit of a novelty. BEWARE : "IMO" yet again. i read an interview with them, and the mentioned the minidisk as just wanting to take advantage of the minidisk's capabilities of seamless shuffle, so as to create a random sound environment that would never quite sound the same twice. greg
