Well put Lance.. i've been consumed by the above (clipped) releases, and i'm sure many other on this list will appreciate them too. I'm still waiting on Arovane's "Tides", as well as the new "Sugar & Spice" release by Aspen, actually. The new Lowfish full-length has been in constant rotation over here the past few days, i can't quite get over these finely tuned melodies. I'll add to this list by concluding that Delsin records has released some fine 12s as well. It's incredible to hear such an assortment from this label, in such short a time span. Same goes for deFocus (Lackluster, CiM, Aphelion, Sampler --solid music from a solid label..) Recommended Delsin records: LUCKY & EASY - "I Would Do Anything For a Dairy Lea" 12" NORKEN - "The Lost Day EP" 12" PLASM NESONIC - "Automated Choice Response" AARDVARCK - "Non Spoken" 12" Pietro. ___________________________________________ p i e t r o d a s a c c o a u d i o - n i m b u s c j a m 91.5 fm saturdays from midnight - 2am EST 9745 lynngrove cr, windsor, ontario, n8r 1b8, canada g r o o v e s m a g a z i n e www.groovesmag.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Oh yes indeed. My first exposure to some of these songs were at a live show here in Toronto, so I already have fond memories of them. And my already-favourite IDM track of 2000 - "Arch Melvin" - reaffirmed its position at the top of my list when Lowfish decided to tack an extra three minutes on the end. (For those wondering, a shortened version appeared on the Darla v.14 compilation.) superfuzz@home.com np: Lowfish, of course --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Right on the mark Lance and Pietro. And everyone should check out Arovane's Tides LP. This is definitely an amazing extension of the split 7" with Christian Klein on City Centre Offices and remarkably different from Atol Scrap though retaining that moody downtempo feel. I for am certainly looking forward to the remixes of Pub's Summer release. I am also very excited by the Delsin and Focus labels. Certainly ones that are carving into the legend status as we speak. At the same time I'm sure everyone who have checked out Signer's new release on Involve/ Kog Transmissions would agree with its potent quality, despite being released from the other side of the world. An interesting lok into bigger and better things to come from Bevan Smith's label. Yes, the soul is still alive and well in electronic music today. If you know where to look of course... Totally with everyone praising Pub: "Summer" was a fabulous track. Also SND must be checked out by anyone who hasn't yet: their full-length was great, but their 12"s are even better (with the exception of the first Blir, although the second w/Komet sounds promising). Tplay is stark and bleak, Newtables is dubby, and Travelog is warm, but they all retain that same SND precision enchantment. Now we've waited long enough. Someone in the UK needs to put out a Nuron CD retrospective. How about a disc compiling Evolution 3, 4, 5 and Symbiotic 1 while we're at it? Two mix discs (effectively titled "1999" and "2000") that show Theo going through all sorts of funky business. That Sound Signature comp is an excellent release! Very glad to see Theo reissuing on a disc some of his best material. Everyone on this list who hasn't checked out this CD or the "First Floor" CD is missing out on the new sound of Detroit: ridiculously precise, structured funk/tech-house. The intense formulation and repetition, rather than the outlandish bass licks and chaotic style of traditional funk, somehow manages to make the tracks all the more enticing. If you like Soul Center you'll love Theo Parrish. Lo Soul CD's (Playhouse) any more info on these? >> Playhouse announced on their website a while back three CD's: Isolee, Lo Soul, and a "Playhouse Compilation Volume 1" (the last sounding the most interesting). As far as I can tell the last one is no longer coming out / delayed as I haven't heard more of it, but their website implies a Lo Soul full-length coming out very soon. Should be great: tracks like "Brother In Love" are just excellent.
