To expose the dynamics of the original Concept series. He also used special custom tonearms. Brinkmann stumbled across these 'new' extraneous sounds when he did apply his new experimental mechanism. There's also a Thomas Brinkmann Variations of Mike Ink's Studio 1. Thomas Brinkmann also has releases under the Max Ernst series and several albums, namely X-100, Totes Rennen, Weisse Nachte on Suppose and Soul Centre on WVB. i was at this show and i have to say it was the best of the entire /bin series (for those on the list who don't live in chicago, /bin is the name of a continuing series of electronic music shows being put on by local scene monkey Mike Javor (just kidding he rules)). which is strange because i would have thought Funkstorung would have totally been more my speed. They were of course, but something about that nonstop Cologne 4-on-the-floor beat pounding my lobes for like four hours made me snap and get off my stodgy white i'm-from-chicago-so-i-don't-dance arse and SHAKE A MOTHAFUCKIN BOOTY until 2AM. RRR was fantastic, brinkmann was stellar, goddamned right i'm picking up anything i can find by him. anyway anybody who's in chicago needs to step to these /bin shows because Mike is definitely doing something right. josh -- String Theory Scene Monkey Enterprises http://www.enteract.com/~yoshi/ on 6/6/00 3:37 PM, rich burly at zombiefodder@yahoo.com wrote:

I was at the cleveland Brinkmann/RRR show last friday and had a fabulous time. Brinkmann played over two hours of live minimal techno and storming tech-house that had the small crowd rocking. not even the ATF could stop this event (and believe me they tried). RRR/Riley's two dj sets were also excellent he played a wide variety of stuff from Seniour Coconut to Process to Jim Ingram. Also had the pleasure of hanging with Thomas & Riley before the event. Both are great guys with their fingers frimly on the pulse of the german techno/electronic scene. Regarding Traum, Riley's label, it is one of my favorite labels. All the Traum releaseas so far are excellent with my favorites being the Buenos Aires comp and Gustavo Lamas cds. The two new Phillippe Cam eps are also excellent. Here is the label lowdown. Traum Discography: . Elektronische Musik aus Buenos Aires comp cd (Traum) . Gustavo Lamas: celeste cd (Traum cd1) . Gustavo Lamas: celeste 1" (Traum cd2) . Phillipe Cam: caddie's day 12" (Traum v01) . Process: integ 12" (Traum v02) . Phillippe Cam: mixte/karine 12" (Traum v03) . Phillippe Cam: caddie's day - die salze remixe 12" (Traum v04) For more info + soundbites check out the Traum website at: http://www.geocities.com/traumschallplatten/ -->-Lance--- lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I just picked up a copy of "Rosa", overall not too shabby but I'm especially interested in track 2 with it's minimal low bassy wobbliness. Any suggestions of other artists / tracks with that same kind of minimalism? thanks -ts-

i like tracks 8 thru till the last one (use your force...). but anyway....if its the more minimal thang your into then senking- trial and mokira- cliphop, both in the raster-noton static series, are alright. senking one especailly, its got some quite dark low tones you might like. -thomas ____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
