i apologize to jeff gordon for posting such blatantly non-idm related material, but here goes: anyoine familiar with the above release? the reason i ask, is because track #2 (i believe it's titled 'rites of mu') is puzzling me. i'm really thinking the voice-over sounds like martin sheen a la apocalypse now, but i really doubt that is the case. any idea who this is? - wells oliver / s0ewoliv@titan.vcu.edu " The ball is round. Sure sounds like Martin Sheen to me. I always thought it was him. If it's not him it's someone who sounds *exactly* like him. Martin Sheen has a very distinctive voice. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Ok, I confirmed it is Martin sheen: "To celebrate the summer solstice, The KLF returned to the isle of Jura. To document the events surrounding this celebration a short film entitled 'The Rites Of Mu' was made by Bill Butt and narrated by Martin Sheen. It has since been screened world-wide, including broadcasts on Channel 4 and MTV." --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Interestingly, I found this: "The event was filmed by Bill Butt, as were all the KLF's public appearances, and edited for promotional use only. A Promo video of 5x2min episodes was circulated in July 91. The soundtrack music is largely dark, sinister, and evil, often punctuated by sudden outbursts of the industrial 'woooooo!' sound from 'It's Grim Up North'. A narration by Scott Piering (their record plugger) proved that he couldn't act. Each episode begins with the closing scene of the previous." (http://www.club.innet.be/%7Eyear0489/music.htm#Q08) I dunno.. I'd like to think it's Sheen, but I doubt it.. - wells oliver / s0ewoliv@titan.vcu.edu " The ball is round. Ah...but did you also see this on the same link you provided (a couple paragraphs down) indicating that there are *two* versions and that the soundtrack was re-recorded with a new narration?: "There were rumours that it was to be screened on Channel 4 in the UK, or on MTV Europe, at some point that winter, but it wasn't screened until after the retiral, on the shortest day 1992, on MTV Europe, with a rerecorded soundtrack and new narration....." ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
