i used to be a member of the influx mailing list (dj shadow stuff). while i was there, there was a collective effort to establish a group orientated ftp server with all the songs and albums they liked. i was wondering if anyone here was interested in that kind of stuff. i know i get a daily inferiority complex by having so many different group and artist names go right over my head and think it might be nice if we all had a communal ftp. if anyone is with me on this, let me know. i have 11gb of mp3's so we could start with that or something. oh yeah, and if there are any government members on this list, i own all the cds and records of which i have mp3's so i'm legit. perhaps too legit to quit. see ya, the annoying; the repulsive shaun -- The only certainty is that there is nothing certain Pliny the Elder (c.23-79)

You mean the Dj Shadow list actually sanctioned a public ftp openly for all the world to access the music of various in-print (hell, even OOP) releases? How many people were on that list- 12, 14? Im no "national debater", and not to shoot down all your ideas today, but being that many LABEL OWNERS and ARTISTS who actually record, release and distribute the stuff we talk about on this list are actually ON this list, I think youd find yourself with inbox full of lawyer crafted nasty-grams .. There are private sites that do that sort of thing (Im told) but to open up shop like that in a public forum of nearly 1000 subscribers is kinda, well dumb.
