And what has he been doing since Junk? m. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I got it locally, but you should be able to get it through any of the online shops. Here is a run down of Verhagen releases (post junk) I know about (in chronological order): Darrin Verhagen - soft ash (on dorobo) Shinjuku filth - raised by wolves (on iridium) Shinjuku filth - Zero (on iridium) Released around the same time as Junk (I think): Professor Richmann - Succulent Blue Sway (on dorobo)* Shinjuku thief - the witch hunter (dorobo) *This is excellent. Still sounds very fresh. Very similar to the recent shinjuku filth releases but perhaps with a more techno/idm edge. -daniel --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Just some short reviews. L'usine CD on Isophlux. An instant classic. This thing has gotten lots of rotation around the house. Everything about it is gorgeous. Music that seems like it was hard to make. That is, the layering and the arrangement seems to be very complex. Music made with machines and not just a computer. It is the classic IDM sound modernized for the citizens of 1999. Definitely has an identity and is not just some clone. shinjiku filth - zero If you heard raised by wolves you have an idea of what this sounds like. Though this is tamer. Kinda like Professor Richman vs. Shinjiku thief vs shinjiku filth (yes I know they are all the same person). But, for those not ordained in the ways of shinjiku I offer this: paranoid atmospherics with odd beats, original instrumentations, and weird stylings topped off with a bit of classical influence. This would be post post industrial music. Good stuff. Get it if your interested in music that doesn't follow trends. -daniel: Head Monkey: Mad Monkey Records: http://monkey.eliteware.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I actually pulled out the witch series and succulent blue sway after reading your mail and have been listening to them all afternoon. When i first discovered dorobo I basically went out and bought everything (and i mean everything) he released. At the time i thought most of junk was pretty cool (but i was dissapointed it wasnt a Dorobo release, gotta love them heavy paper stock inserts). but it was about the same time i really started to delve into our more list friedndly type of material, so i lost track. Succulent blue sway was released in late 94 early 95. witch hunter and junk were released in mid to late 95. thanks for the info. m. -----Original Message----- From: daniel [mailto:daniel@eliteware.com] Sent: Thursday, December 09, 1999 5:29 PM To: Matthew Allen Cc: idm@hyperreal.org Subject: RE: (idm) enraged monkey reviews

Actually, I think Jeff is a big fan of fruity loops also. I've seen him play live twice and his setup was pretty minimal. And since when is a computer not just a machine too? ;-) brock. ps. http://shoko.calarts.edu/~jmciln/ pps. I like his stuff too. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
