i just found out that haujobb is the man behind groove attack/krush groove's "myer" and "hexer" projects. when i was buying drum and bass 12s i bought every rec that these "guys" put together, and just chalked it up to the amazing talent pool that the whole groove attack family posesses. come to find out that my absolute faves from that camp are all one guy, and that one guy is haujobb. another great drum and bass 12 that i've always loved is on on form and function. this rec, "dots and dashes" is haujobb as well! i'm fairly ignorant of haujobb, but i guess i need to get up to speed quickly on this stuff. i've heard that his later stuff sounds a little, erm, more contemporary than the older stuff (hey, that sounds logical). . . -------------- 1642 try 621 -------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

haujobb is actually two people. Haujobb is Dejan Samardcic and Daniel Myer. The person who is the common denominator to the other projects you mentioned is Daniel Myer. The older stuff by haujobb is definitely more EBM oriented (similar to Lassigue Bendthaus but I think Lassigue Bendthaus did it better). However, later work is executed in a totally different direction. I was really impressed with haujobb - ninteynine. I just recently got haujobb - ninetynine remixes. Some descriptions of the remix CD that come to mind are acid jazz (but strange), jungle (sorta) and twisted house. Includes remixes by s'apex and architect (both Daniel Myer projects). If you like the sound of myer and hexer you should check out these other Daniel Myer projects: Architect (http://www.ant-zen.com) Newt not Daniel Myer but worth checking out: Forma Tadre - automate Forma Tadre is the other half of Newt. A great source of information on Dnaiel Myer can be found at: http://user.cs.tu-berlin.de/~seher/DanielMeier/ p.s. where did you find the myer, hexer and dots and dashes? in austin or?? -daniel: Head Monkey: Mad Monkey Records: http://monkey.eliteware.com On Sun, 28 Nov 1999, jeff shoemaker wrote:

DaD: Alien Myer (2): ordered one from distributor; chemistry in houston Hexer: System 7 others were found in various places. shows how: 1) hard it is to find what you really want in a town that isn't really big on the "eclectic electronics" thing, and 2) my record buying habits in general. -------------- 1642 try 621 -------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Sez you, they're miles ahead of Dallas... every time I'm down there it seems like they actually give a shit about the things we do.
