And alternative,
Buy a big harddrive. 47gig for $700 www.corpsys.com.
Buy a decent sound card. Creamware Pulsar $800 until the end of the month
from www.guitarcenter.com.
MusicMatch. $30 I think.
And Mp3 the whole lot. With the above you have enough equiment to store
about 1100 hours of MP3's at high rez.
The added advantage of having complete control. WinAmp a little code and a
remote control to access your whole system.
And for the clever bugger. Go to a liquidation sale and buy yourself a few
old P90's ($50-$100). One for each room.
Network the bunch together. And bob is your preverbial uncle. How about
adding a palm pilot and a few IR transcievers.
More control, more fun (ok so the quality isn't quite there but hey you
can't have everything) and cheaper.
I'm taking the clever bugger route, but the IR is being a bit of a pain in
the bottom.
And the encoding is a little slow. 12gig down about 80gig to go.
Which means, Arrgghh!! I still need a CD changer so I don't have to do each
disc by hand!!!!!
Doh........
