I love that! It was from 92, I think. Well, between the 'Glider' ep and 'Loveless', which I think came out back then. I reckon it's damn funky, and nice and irreverent on Weatherall's part. Probably the same things that would stop many fans of MBV from enjoying it. :) Oh well. Also, people talking about tape delay etc. - they were using samplers on their recordings, according to a Melody Maker interview I read around the time of 'Loveless''s release. But one of the things I love, from a technical IDM-y perspective, is that the use of technology is not transparent. I'm really not sure what they've done to make the sounds they have, given what technology they had available. It reminds me a lot of Autechre's 'Tri Repetae' in this respect (prob. one reason why those two albums are some of my faves of all time).
