The Gas on MP is the alias of Wolfgang Voigt (he of Profan, Studio One,
Mike Ink, and several million other DBAs), whereas the Gas on Em:t derives
from a completely different creature - although it is also quite magically
delicious in a very different way. The orchestrated minimal pulsings of
recent Gas - to which I too have been hopelessly addicted - are quite hard
to match, although Sturm (Voigt brother Reinhard also on MP) and Monolake
offer similarly immersive clickandclatterscapes, and EAR's "Koner
Experiment" takes these techniques of sonic hypnotherapy on a beautifully
organic Eno retreat.
