What is this, some kind of inverse-trainspotting pissing contest? "Ha! I'm SO not interested in the biggest subject of conversation on this list! I've got more INTERESTING things to buy!" No offense, in fact after listening to ep7 four or five times I'd offer support to your reticence, but I thought I'd just point it out. Shall we make pledges now to not buy the new Boards Of Canada album coming out in December, just so we can be different? No, I'll actually enjoy that. New Autechre doesn't do anything for me. Their older stuff I find to be enjoyable, I just haven't bought any.

actually, yes. there are many more interesting albums to buy, in my humble & easily dismissable opinion. all of which get far less good press than they deserve, while decent idm acts like boards of canada or say bola get so overhyped they actually obscure other good music which doesn't live by said hype. as a side note: supporting the same acts over & over regardless of what they do just puts the entire music scene in stagnation & forces new artists to imitate the 'current sound' to get a piece of hype themselves. that's what you get from buying ae records out of habit, rather than because you really like them. ~ david
