I can't ever imagine mistaking Boards of Canada for Autechre. BOC has such a distinctive sound and I'd think it would be even more difficult to mimic THEIR style. But I'm not too familiar with Funkst and Lex, so I cant speak for them. Each AE release is taken to different extremes, most notably LP5 and EP7. How can you top something so complex? RS

If you listen to the first couple tracks on Music Has Right... by BoC and tell me that those krunchy drum loops don't sound just a little bit like the beats on Envane... more of a textural similarity than a stylistic one, but a similiarity nonetheless. I wouldn't say it would be possible for anyone who has listened thoroughly to both artists to mistake one for the other, but I bet my Mom couldnt' tell the difference :) josh -- String Theory : Digital Music for Humans http://www.enteract.com/~yoshi/index.cgi On Tue, 9 May 2000 TekDz9ER@aol.com wrote:
