I'm planning a lesson for my history class where I want to illustrate the concept of "time, continuity and change". Realizing that this is a rather abstract notion, and since I am a DJ/music junkie, I want to show them this concept through music. My idea is to play for them the following songs in this order: Summer in the city -- Lovin' Spoonful Summer in the city -- Quincy Jones Passin' my by -- The Pharcyde Nights interlude -- Nightmares on Wax Thus showing them how each song has elements of the previous one (continuity) yet each is unique in its own way (change)and each was produced in a specific year (time). The good news is that I have all four tracks to play for them, but I'd also like to share the cover art with them. Thus, my question is does anybody know what album the Quincy Jones version comes from? Lovin Spoonful? Does anybody have the years for each of the tracks? Any and all leads are welcomed. Peace, Pedro Cevallos -- "...the world is a comedy to those who think and a tragedy to those who feel..." -- Horace Walpole -- http://www.cat.net/~cevallos/ ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

Lovin' Spoonful's "Summer In The City" was released in 1966 on an album called _Hums_. Couldn't find the QJ info. Dave Segal Managing Editor/Alternative Press Reviews/BPM/Reissue Redux/Origins Of Cool Secret Ions on WCSB Thursdays 9-11PM EST www.wcsb.org np: v/a- the big chill [factor 2]

Quincy's version is on "You've Got It Bad, Girl" from 73. The original poster will have to revices their ordering tho: The Bizarre Ride 2 Tha Pharcyde came out in 92; The NOW album came out in 91. (Of course, there's a version of night's interlude on each of their three albums.) RJ
