Actually, it's one of the best songs ever for the following reasons: 1. It sounds like you're on a train. 2. Songs about trains are good (as shown by the popularity of Tom Waits) 3. The train is driven by Roger, Zapp, Sir Nose D'voidoffunk, and the Cylons from "Battlestar Gallactica" 4. The question "Come on boy, do you wanna ride?" has the obvious answer of "Hell, yeah!" (well, I think so at least) 5. It has that cool "MUU! MUU! KAAY EEEELLLL EEEEF!!!" thing in it. (I love that thing, but I kind of like it when bands yell their names out during songs though [i.e. "..the final solution KMFDM" etc]) It may be dated, but "The White Room" is a nice little hour long vacation to Mumuland, you know? Especially for house-haters and non-techno people like myself. Kopyright liberator, .Bil.

Weird weird weird that this thread has just come up now. On the w/end I made a mixed CD-R to use for playing out (so I don't need to carry about millions of precious albums to just use one track off each) and 3am Eternal was amongst the chosen ones. Although at the time I asked myself whether it's acceptable to still slip this into a set? I suppose the word "eternal" in the title suggests that it'll just keep on going. I *

Honorable mention should go to My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult for this same achievement.

Clever marketing strategy. Put the name of the band into the lyrics so that radio listeners and club patrons will know the artist is. Jim and Danny were geniuses. Didn't work with everyone on Wax Trax!, though. I don't remember "Coil is gonna rock you" being in any of their tracks --sharon

Its also very common in Dancehall tracks. I would guess that in any form of music that has many songs mixed together (by DJ), the artists have a tendency of 'advertising' who they are so that the anyone listening to the mix can quickly locate their release later on in the store after the party instead of bothering an aloof DJ in a noisy environment. ernie Ernesto Ikerd, (817) 763-4795 Company Graphics, Dept 17, MZ-1156 Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircraft Systems Fort Worth, Texas
