so, to get back to more idm-friendly grounds -- which of the 20' to 2000 series should i spend my oh-so-hard-earned buck on? i'm also contemplating getting noto's infinity 2*10" which if i understand correctly is a lock grooves collection. any comments on that? -- david

They're all quite good, but I'm partial to the last two - by Senking and Ester (Thomas) Brinkmann - myself. Especially Senking. Greg

working for memory here so please forgive: All of the releases so far have been pretty good but the Ikeda one left a lot to be desired. I like hos work but on this I did not get it. Perhaps to conceptual. To me it just sounds like a slightly altering tone for 20 min. Here are my top 3 of the series (order matters): 3. komet (release 1) 2. ilpo vasanen (release 2) * if you dig pan sonic get this 1. senking (release 6) Not as abstract as the other 20 to 2000 releases but it is simply stunning. Now why can't I make music like this? have not heard the brinkman yet (got it yesterday). -daniel Head Monkey Mad Monkey Records http://monkey.eliteware.com

The senking is a favorite of mine. Followed by the Ester Brinkmann, and Komet.

Yes it is a great release of around 80 lock grooves. To my ears, it features all the unique sounds used to make Noto's Infinity cd. A great minimal mixing tool but probably not something for the average listener. -->-Lance--- mclance@nacs.net lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states
