I just picked up a ticket to see Kid Koala and Amon Tobin this Saturday night at Maxwell's in Hoboken. Did Koala ever locate his stolen records? That was a sad news item...reminded me of the internet-wide search for Sonic Youth's stolen equipment a few months back. I believe Koala's band Bullfrog will be playing on Saturday, so I don't know how much dj action is involved (I imagine a fair amount). Has anyone seen this tour? I would expect that Amon Tobin is doing a dj set. Koala's record were returned...alright!!! Seems the theif that took them busted the lock on the case only to discover that all that was inside was a bunch of beat up records. The case was then just abandoned in the train station and was found/turned in a few days later.

Koala's set rotates between solo, with P-Love (routines on 4-6 decks), and with Bullfrog as his backing band. I saw the debut gig and it was awesome, so given that they've toured it for 2 months now it's going to be that much more. Amon DJ'ing his typical dark assault made up mostly of his new record 'Supermodified' and some other fine moments (check the fabulous Herb Alpert vs. Public Enemy cut).
