Being a long-time YMO and Hosono chaser, I need to chime in here and hop on the
Haruomi bandwagon. His "Mercuric Dance" lp is a must for beatless beauty.
Released in the early-mid 80s, it resonates with a deep quiet and melody which
is hard to top. Most people who know of him from "back then" are familiar with
"Philharmony" or "SFX" or even his F.O.E. output, but this is an entirely
different animal. Slow, lilting and glistening.
