some interesting things on the decks/cd player as of late:
Flanger: templates on Ninja Tune
plopped this cd in..and ...hmm interesting..very interesting.. listened
to it for a few days and couldnt come up with the right description...
its like a funky jazz fusion ensemble that has been pumped through
eclectic sampling gear (ala clifford gilberto rhythm comination meets
stock, hausen, walkman at times at others its straight up jazzy)
8 tracks of goodness with my fave being #8 quicksilver loom..ver laidback
and smooth..very ninja.tuney.
Quoit/Lounge 1996 Possible Rec. Mick Harris LP umm weird find at a local
shop... i really like it...it is sorta d&b stylish with weird
breaks...very nice though.. the b-lines are phat and extended...definatly
not like the other mick harris material i have heard (ala coil)
maybe someon can tell m: are the other releases on Possible Records just
as good? there is a whole slew of them there..and damn cheap too
(domestic single prices for a double vinyl import)
Chimera: Valley of the spirits/The future is upon us
taken from CAT012 CD 1993 Rephlex
interesting find.....its been sitting there for a few months so idecided
to plop down the discounted price for it (inventory clearouts are cool:8
bucks)... dont really know what to say about ti....its good but not
breathtaking..
Taco: Puttin' on the Ritz ...classic 45 by the one-hit wonder...
original by berlin..finally secured its place in my collection... i
actually prefer taco's version over berlin's but *shrug* they both rock!
some ninja tune comp released by shadow.. earthrise.ninja.2 i have a
majority of the tracks on vinyl already..this is cd btw... some ashley
beedle i wanted to check out: Do You Believe in Love? and
Hedfunk--Consciousness (ashley beedle consciousness mix) good
shit...wouldnt mind finding them on vinyl.
anyways out..
