Hallo... Anyone out there made any good mixtapes of IDM-type stuff? Or know of any good ones? I'm thinking more in the realm of "listening" music, not dancefloor oriented stuff. BTW, I already have the Blech releases. I'm looking for something more current (and not all Warp artists, either :) ). Any help is much appreciated. Jeff

The one and only mixtape I own is Benny Blanco's "Weirdah". One side is all Plug and the other is all Squarepusher. It's great. You'd be amazed at how much better it sounds then "Hard Normal Daddy" and "Drum and Base for Papa" (from which most of the tracks come). I don't know if you can still get it. I bought my copy at Satellite Records in Boston. -Michael

I have a few mixes by Kiya "K-Funk" Babzani, in which he mixes IDM fare with the sounds of copy machines. You haven't heard autechre until you've heard it mixed with a collating Sharp SF-2040 (oh my!) Well, actually there aren't any copy machines, and Kiya doesn't use "K-Funk" he uses "DJ Copier" (it's french!) but they are damn good [straight IDM] mixes, and I'll cook up a CDR and mail them out (to the US) for $5 for one, or $6 for both. (which is $1 for the disk, $.80 for the envelope and my time, and $3.20 for postage... I have no idea what postage would be to somewhere else, so yeah, I'll still do it, but that will cost more, since the bulk of the price I'm asking is the postage...) Lemme know off list if you want one. the vegetarian shish kabob (from two years ago : in random order): monolake|autechre|source direct|twisted science|twisted anger|something on MASK200|photek|as one|v/vm|squarepusher|aphex twin|luke vibert|plug wagonchrist|ms. pacman|u-ziq|d'archangelo|dave kristian|various artists disjecta|andrea parker|bundy brown|journeyman and a bunch of others, it's also a three turntable mix (it is extremely 'Bad' ...in the LL Cool J sense of the word.) ok... and cd 2, prime kutz (from this year sometime : in random order): v/vm|funkstrorung|chris de luca|gescom|autechre|phonecia|richard devine cylob|pole|stock, hausen, and walkman there's more songs that escape memory at the moment, but that one is more "meaty" :) w3rd w3rd w3rd ich bin ein Kopierer! .Bil.
