A good cat named Orn CDrd a comp of music for me. I just heard "Stone in focus" for really the first time! OUCH, I like it verrrrrrrrrrry muuuuuuuch! Any comments on the rest of the CD? np) Biogen---Impulse Hk-90!

So you've never heard SAWII? Wow, that was the first Aphex Twin i heard of (though ICBYD was my first purchase, SAWII was too wierd for me to get into without some other reason to like the guy). And i thought it was required listening for the list. (what else would there be? all Aphex Twin albums that you can get in the US, All Autechre albums you can get in the US, prob some mu-ziq and squarepusher, too, eh?) Basically, SAWII is full of beatless pads and washes that will play with your mind if you pay too much attention, of are any bit sleep-deprived. "Hedphuq" describes this so much better than it describes "Tamphax."

I can't remember which track that is, i think that's one of the two tracks cut off the US release. Anyways, if you like one track on it, you'll probably like all the others to some degree (although some may not be as good). That connection on a personal basis could be the most important part. SAWII for me re-envoked emotions I had when I was a child. Emotions of fantasy and isolationism, it was so true to a world that I would love to live in.. a world that appeased to me so greatly that I wanted to saturate myself in it.. I spent the next couple of months concentrating on SAWII, going to sleep with it on every night with shuffle repeat on (oh.. that's why I'm crazy.. hehe), spending time concentrating on the sounds, where they took me, why did it connect with me so much, I loved it, it was like audible drugs, I listened to it over and over again and it never got old, it created a fantastic world I could withdrawl into, a world that fascinated me, it was a perfect example of what it should be.. it was a perfect example of what it meant, I understood why it was.. and I wanted so bad for other people to understand as well.. needless to say.. they never did. I don't want to hate anybody,.. all I've really wanted my whole life was friends.. something I've never had many of.. and no it's not because I make lude outbursts, people who do shit like that in real life usually have alot of friends.. hey, you know, it's a standard that admitting things like that makes you an automatic loser,. but you know what, I know for a goddamn fact that there isn't a one of you out there who doesn't have his own problems.. Hey, why don't some of you people point and grin at me and pretend you are perfect.. oh no, you can't do that, pretending you are perfect will make you imperfect, then in that case, give a little slack where it doesn't count to give you that little chip of imperfection that any good work of art has that makes it perfect "for real"... that is so IDM way of thinking..I will admit all my faults, I will admit them all.. and I will speak my mind, I will speak it all. Yeah, my grandmother used to have windchimes that sound exactly like the ones he uses. Well, aaron, thank you for an entire long post where "SAWII" was the only word in allcaps. And you will be picked on for a while, your outbursts were rather funny IMO. It's great that you live the music you love, blah blah, but this is not just a chat group. Speak your mind, but don't speak about speaking your mind. That changes the subject from music, which we can all experience, to your psyche, which the rest of us can only guess at from several very awkward, rambling, flaming posts. Gee, if you're really keen, I can MAKE you one like that... I've got a very irritating CD burner that randomly does Pole impersonations with clicks and pops unwantedly all over the show... What's so good about this sh!t? I'd prefer my music clean and error-free. On that note, I must confess that one Oval CD (Systemisch in my case) is quite enough - I've heard Dok as well, but can't work up any energy to get excited about this at all. I'm sure I miss the point - whatever it is - completely. Don't bother flaming, this is just my problem and I know loads of you get lots of pleasure from it. I * np : 2LS : 5th Mission

are you sure it's the burner that's responsible for the clicks? it's very likely that your cd-rom drive (or the burner acting as cd-rom drive) is the one to put the blame on. check this by leaving the extracted .wav files on your hd, then listen to the freshly burnt cdr, and if you notice clicks, load that .wav track into a sound editor and see if the clicks are there, too. if they are, keep your cdr burner and either get a plextor ultraplex 14/32x cd-rom drive (less than $100 and the best audio extracting you can get) or extract your audio at 1x speed (which may or may not help). as not everyone knows, the concept of error detection in data cdroms does not apply to audio extraction. some, but not all cd-rom drives use the same error correction that audio players use at 1x speed, but at every speed faster than 1x it completely depends on the combination of your cdrom drive and the audio disc. cheers, tom

from memory, this is what the sample is saying (approximately): i don't want to be a millionaire, because, have things piling over me, too many things, over me, while my husband's saying, oh, get me another tie, get me another shirt, get me another woolie, every day, and it really wouldn't do. it's from the 60's album "children talking", and the subject of the interview is a child of some rich family in london. she probably already was a millionaire. the album's also been sampled by jimpster. <waves>

Children Talking, that's the name of the first track on HAB1.. the sample's of those kids must have come from the same movie. -=Aaron
