has anyone heard the new side project, a silver mt. zion? i'm anxiously awaiting getting the CD. how does it compare to godspeed? and btw, if you ever have the chance to see godspeed live, take it. they are fucking amazing. i saw them open for low and then for labradford, and both times they completely stole the show. jeff ________________________ glueslabs@earthlink.net ICQ: 59895018 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

it compares very well. 8 tracks (i think, don't have the cd handy), that can almost be treated like one long piece, i think the vinyl is mastered as on track per side. same strong melodies, similar strings, more piano, less guitar/glockenspiel freakout. track one (only) uses the found sound approach, some brimstone and fire preacher ranting about peace and such, a bit more cut up than normal, great stuff. two tracks feature vocals proper, the second one a bit more successfuly than the first, imo, which tends slightly towards a generic indie whine, but not enough to spoil the overall effect. -martin --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
