WE - Square Root of Negative One (0994) The second album from WE (DJ Olive, Lloop, Once 11) is released April 6th on CD and double vinyl. Available now via mail order. "It may be a mathematical impossibility, but Square Root of Negative One should generate some solid numbers for WE. This time around WE have captured some of the same "human factor" that makes µ-ziq and the Aphex Twin's work rise above the masses. Fans of intelligent electronica should put WE at the top of their lists." - Splendid E-Zine, March 99 A S P H O D E L PO Box 51, Chelsea Station, New York, NY 10113, USA Voice: 212-604-9130 Fax: 212-604-0783 Email: asphodel@interport.net Website: http://asphodel.com

...is not impossible, just imaginary. It's quite useful in certain calculations. Just to let those that didn't get very far in Math (Maths to you Brits) in on the joke embodied in the title, the square root of -1 is commonly designated as "i". When I saw the title, I thought "WE - i". Quite funny, I think. Of course, electrical engineers, weirdos that they are, designate the square root of -1 as "j" (so as not to be confused w/ "i" for current), so I suppose the joke falls kinda flat for them. Che ...just demonstrating what an intellectual freak I am.
