Hello i'll probably get fried for this but i thought maybe i'd make a suggestion anyway. is anyone aware of software which allows you to "mix" MP3 files together? obviously i know that DJ mixing on trusty twin decks will always reign supreme, but as someone who hasn't got a hope in hell of getting up and running with a set of decks, an easier option would interest me. it would also allow people to create their own mix CDs for their own, ahem, private use. just a thought.... Think MP3 last - if that is how you want to listen to them. You are talking about a several step process - since blending 2 streams of audio live (in a computer) is a bit tricky. One method - which will allow for a huge amount a flexibility - is buy ACID from Sonic Foundry (who make Sound Forge). Record your audio segments - make them into loopable segments - then you can mix to you hearts content in ACID. Fades, EQs, Filter effects, etc. But then again - you'll want to get some of the Plug-Ins to make it real fun. The audio doensn't need to be in loops - you can mix between "one-Shot" audio files and loops. The number of tracks you can have is dependent on you CPU and RAM. I have one tune in ACID that has around 40 tracks (granted the tacks each contain small samples instead of a full song). Once you are done with the mix - you can use a MP3 encoder to convert the audio to that format - or even keep it in audio (stereo) and burn it to CD. Enjoy.
